The Kitchen and Bath Show has tremendous “aesthetic” color and attractive architecture ; especially in its largest exhibits. The show consistently had  a high level of energy. This is not surprising, considering how passionate the dozens of designers were whom I met in my travels as show photographer throughout my coverage of seminars, special keynotes and all over the exhibit floor. A fascinating KBIS association  exhibit was “Uncontained” which highlighted entire room sets from different generations of specific individuals’ homes  across a wide demographic in the form of entire room set reconstructions.

There was, in addition, an especially intriguing and compelling keynote by Sally Hogshead on why and how we can all be fascinating; and hence, influence decision making  in sales and in other areas of life, including our personal lives. She argues with evidence from neurology, psychology and sociology that we all can gain a much greater awareness and confidence of who we are and what we are doing through a deeper alignment with our sense of self and value. She focused on emotional “triggers” that constantly influence decision making. These universal triggers are”passion, mystique, power, trust, prestige, vice, and  trust.”

From every angle, KBIS was a rich aesthetic feast that gives a new name and contour to the myriad appliances and decorations that inhabit our homes!

It has been a couple years since I worked at the NAB Show.  This year I was scheduled to shoot the show and was pretty excited about it!  The NAB show covers every aspect of broadcasting in both television and radio.  Attendees can find exhibits ranging from video cameras and satellite dishes to post production hardware and cables.

The NAB Show also has an occasional celebrity sighting including directors, actors and radio personalities.  A big event at this years show was a presentation by Netflix in the Content Theater.  Netflix is going to start producing original programing and many stars were on hand to talk about their shows.  The major announcement was that Netflix is bringing back “Arrested Development” after being off the air for 6 years.  Almost the entire cast was on hand including David Cross, Will Arnett and Jeffrey Tambor.

The broadcasting industry is constantly evolving and the NAB Show always features the latest in technology as well as what is coming in the future.

I had the good fortune to be the official photographer for an association new to Oscar and Associates called PRSM.PRSM is the Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association. Though superficially viewed, conferences and trade shows appear to be more  alike than not, but this just is not the case! The entire group of well over 1000 attendees represented an unusually warm, respectful,  and egalitarian culture. Their Best Practices Handbook was a central pillar of the association which, among other things, strongly encouraged the sharing of ideas among all members (direct competitors included) with regard to efficiency and safety of maintenance practices. I was even told first hand that one direct competitor checked flooded stores of his direct competitor with no thought that it would be better to let the competition drown.

I will go on record saying I have never had more attendees shake my hand in welcoming me as their photographer, nor thank me for the photos. Over two hundred photos of the conference were shown continuously for over two hours for the last PRSM dinner function in Studio 17 Soundstage at Disney in Anaheim.

Oscar Einzig was the official photographer for NPE 2012 that took place on April 2^nd-5^th at the Orange County Convention Center. NPE stands for the National Plastics Expo, which is produced by the SPI- the Plastics Industry Association.

The show is held every three years, and this year marked the first time that the show was held in Orlando. What a huge show! NPE utilized the West, North and South Exhibit halls. The show which traditionally was held on a Monday-Friday opened on Sunday this year and ran through Thursday.

Exhibitors that Oscar Einzig worked with were very happy with all aspects of the show and the crowds were prevalent throughout the week.

The gigantic Robot was a big attention getter for those in vehicles on International Drive and the walk in traffic to the Convention Center.

NPE 2012 was big in every aspect! We can only imagine what kind of encore will be in store for NPE 2015!

At the Chicago Auto Show the cars are the stars. However there are many special appearances that take place every day. I was assigned to shoot several of these and one thing is for sure, Chicago is still a sports town!

The Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks had many current and past legends at various manufacturers throughout the show. Crowds of people waited hours just to meet their favorite players. The two biggest events at the show where Joakim Noah from the Bulls (Above) and Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews from the Blackhawks (Below).

This year the Chicago Auto Show featured almost 1,000 cars for attendees to view.  The show is in its 104th year making it the longest running auto exhibition in the United States. Several car manufactures had a new feature this year, actual test drives outside of McCormick Place.

As in the past, show-goers could take a ride on one of several courses inside the exhibit hall.  These are the largest draws at the show with some people waiting in line for hours to take a ride.  The most popular track with attendees is Jeep’s Off-Road course.

Once again Oscar Einzig was the official photographer for NAHB’s 2012 International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Florida. There were more than 800 exhibiting companies and 165+ education sessions. IBS features the latest in building materials and techniques.

The IBS show also goes beyond just products. In the parking lot several entire homes were built and open for tours. Most of these homes featured the latest in green materials and technologies.

We were just at MODEX 2012 in Atlanta.  MODEX is MHIA’s newest expo for the manufacturing, distribution and supply chain industries.  It featured over 500 exhibitors and was over 150,000 square feet of show floor.

MHIA also hosted its first-ever Industry Night, a networking event at the Georgia Aquarium.  This sold out event featured food and cocktails as well as all of the attractions within the aquarium.

We just wrapped up shooting CES 2012 in Las Vegas! The show is always fun to shoot and the enthusiasm of the 140,000 attendees is amazing. CES is the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow and covers over 1.7 million square feet.

Attendees enjoy seeing the latest in electronics either in exhibitor booths or at the many individual launches, keynotes and press conferences.  Another big attraction for attendees is all of the celebrity spottings.  This year 50 Cent, Jillian Michaels, LL Cool J and Justin Bieber were seen on the show floor.

On Wednesday December 7^th Oscar Einzig exhibited at the Expo! Expo! Tradeshow at the Las Vegas Convention Center. We were also the official photographers for this event. We have exhibited in this event for many years, and is an ideal networking event for us to visit with long time customers, while also prospecting for new business.

From the beginning of the day to the very end, we had a lot of traffic in our exhibit. We also shared a booth this year with our strategic partner Megastream and introduced many of our new service offerings to the show attendees which include full scale video including streaming video, e-mail campaigns, website enhancement, mobile apps, etc.

This year’s show was the most crowded that I remember in a long time. Maybe it was the Las Vegas venue, and the improving economy, or both! Either way, we had a great show and have a lot of post show follow up ahead! Not a bad thing at all!
